"The City Of Newburgh Web Site Upgraded"

The official web site for the City of Newburgh (http://www.newburgh-ny.com) will soon feature a new Ethnic/Cultural history page and a page with information on historic personalities that have had an impact on the city.

Web page architect Frederick Embden of Verizon (formally Bell Atlantic) has been instrumental in designing and presenting the page and its various aspects.   Thanks to him, the page contains information regarding the revitalization of Newburgh, its municipal departments, and the history of the area.

The Ethnic/Cultural history page will highlight the contributions of the Latino, Irish, African American, Itanian and German ethnic groups in the city.  The historic personalities page will discuss the contributions of such individuals as George Washington and Andrew Jackson Downing, designer of many historic buildings within the city.

The city hopes to add more enhancements to the web site with time.  Amoung the planned additions are downloadable department forms, and an on-line architectural tour (e-Tour) of the city.
